Howdy! You know how I spend lots of time on my knees painting stuff for scant reward, right? Well, I did it again this past weekend, and it occurred to me to ask myself "Why? Why you doin this, girl?" Had a good think about it and realized that the repetitive painting motion, done at my own pace, with no deadline, offered the right set of circumstances to put me into a sort of meditative state of mind. I really zone out, let my mind go where it will, or stay still; I just 'be', feel so in the moment while painting, whether it be furniture or artwork.
I had this old rickety table. Re-glued a couple of the legs, sanded and painted it
and now it's a sweet cottagey all purpose item
This little nightstand turned out cute
A friend asked me "are you going to paint
everything turquoise from now on?"
Maybe not everything...but right now I'm
definitely on a turquoise streak. I believe colour affects our mood so I did a search for the significance of turquoise.
If green is your favorite color, you are most likely a relaxed person who is a lover of nature and in tune with living healthy. Lovers of the color green are often spiritual healers and can also be very prosperous, as well as constantly full of new ideas.
If blue is your favorite color, you are likely a nurturing person that others look to for spiritual or mental healing.
Turquoise is a mixture of blue and green. Therefore, someone who enjoys turquoise will have a mixture of blue and green qualities. Turquoise also symbolizes water, so someone with a love for turquoise will likely have a special appreciation of water.
So, there you have it, folks. But the easiest explanation for why I'm painting with turquoise is: I just like it, that's all.
Let me be great.
No matter....it's how you like it! As always is terrific!!!
